Nothing Phone 2 launch date, design and chipset revealed

Carl Pei’s Nothing is set to launch its next iteration of the Nothing Phone. The upcoming Nothing Phone 2 is expected to launch globally this British summer and will likely be released in India around the same time as other markets.

The company has confirmed that the Nothing Phone 2 will be its most premium phone yet and will feature the unique transparent design of the Nothing Phone 1 as well as the glyph LED interface. The company revealed the global launch date of the device on Thursday alongside a teaser image of the upcoming smartphone. The teaser showed a similar glyph LED interface found on the Phone 1 but with additional design changes like a small red light and white strips. Interestingly, the teaser also revealed that the upcoming device might come with an alert slider.

Flipkart, Nothing’s official sales partner in India, has also confirmed the Phone 2’s launch in India through a banner ad.

Hardware details have not been disclosed yet, but the Phone 2 is expected to have Qualcomm’s 8-series chipset and compete with Samsung Galaxy S and iPhone models in terms of features and performance. The company has not yet confirmed if the Nothing Phone 2 will feature Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 2. However, multiple reports from prominent tech news outlets say that the device could be powered by the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset.

Nothing is also focusing on the software aspect of the phone and is expected to base it on Android 13, with Android 14 beta coming soon. Nothing aims to build an experience similar to that of an iPhone and the Phone 2 will be its first phone to launch in the US. More details on the Nothing Phone 2 are expected to be revealed soon.
