Northeast Olympic Games 2022: Medal galore for champions Assam in shooting events
Dimapur, Nov. 15 (EMN): Assam emerged the overall champions in the shooting events at the 2nd Northeast Olympic Games 2022, claiming 11 out of the total 18 gold medals.
The shooting events, which were held at the Assam Regimental Centre’s indoor and outdoor shooting ranges, concluded on Tuesday.
Besides their 11 gold medals, Assam also took four silver and four bronze. Manipur finished as the runners-up with four gold, eight silver and five bronze, in front of Meghalaya, who won three gold, four silver and five bronze.
Mizoram earned 2 silver and 4 bronze, while Arunachal did not fetch any medal from this discipline. Sikkim, Tripura and Nagaland did not participate.
Each contingent sent 16 shooters, except for Arunachal, which fielded 11.
