Northeast is of utmost priority for the government, Union Minister Dr. RK Ranjan Singh

Imphal, Dec. 6 (EMN): Union Minister of state for external affairs Dr. RK Ranjan Singh said that Northeast is of utmost priority for the government and PM Gati Shakti will bring down the time and cost for the infrastructure projects.

Dr. Ranjan Singh was speaking at the plenary session on North East Logistic Conclave at Guwahati organised by Confederation of Indian Industries on Tuesday.

He said that the government is committed to strengthen border infrastructure including building airports, roads and turning villages into frontline hamlets.

Stating that the theme of the event “Creating Logistic Capitals in the North East” is of immense importance in view of exploring immense potential in the North Eastern Region, he said that along with PM Gati Shakti Scheme, initiatives like India’s National Ropeway Development Programme and Prime Minister’s Development Initiative for North East (PMDevINE) aim at improving connectivity in the inaccessible hilly areas and providing ecologically sustainable alternatives in difficult hilly areas.

The Union Minister said that the Northeast is witnessing a dawn of new hope and opportunities.

Dr. Ranjan said, the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas Hydrocarbon Vision 2030 aims to ramp up oil and gas production in Northeast with the goal of contributing to overall socio-economic development.
