Northeast India likely to experience rainfall next few days

DIMAPUR— Thunderstorm and lightning are very likely to occur at isolated places over Nagaland, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura on June 2.

As per the India Meteorological Department (MID) forecast, light to moderate rain is likely to occur at many places over Arunachal Pradesh, and light rain likely to occur at isolated places over Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura.

In Nagaland, districts including Phek, Wokha, Kephire, Mokokchung, Mon and Longleng are likely to experience thunderstorm with lightning at isolated places.

On June 2, temperature in Dimapur will remain at 38 degree Celsius with humidity level at 60%, while in Kohima temperature is forecast at 27 degree Celsius with humidity level at 68%.

Maximum temperatures over Northeast India are expected to be above normal by 4-6°C even on June 2.

On June 3, light to moderate rain is very likely to occur at a few places over Arunachal Pradesh and light rain is very likely to occur at isolated places over Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura.

Arunachal Pradesh, Assam and Meghalaya are likely to experience light to moderate rain on June 4 and 5, while light rain is likely to occur at isolated places over Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura during the same period.
