Dimapur: The Nagaland Olympic Association (NOA) has expressed pain and shock at the demise of Nolvi Sophie, former athletics coach and member of Nagaland Athletic Association, who passed away on May 29.
NOA in a condolence message said that Late Sophie gave the best years of his life towards the cause of promoting sports, grooming young talents and strengthening of Nagaland’s sports fraternity.
“A dedicated and disciplined person, he always carried out his given responsibilities with commitment and sincerity. He has made positive contributions in both the department and the association ever since he entered the sports arena,” the association stated.
“The Olympic fraternity led by the President and Honourable Chief Minister Mr. Neiphiu Rio, and all members of the Nagaland Athletics Association convey our deepest condolences to the members of the deceased family and we pray to Almighty God to let the departed soul rest in eternal peace,” it stated.
