No Covid-19 cases in Nagaland; 184 samples tested negative so far

Dimapur, April 16 (EMN): One hundred forty samples of persons connected to the Dimapur resident who had tested positive for Covid-19 in Guwahati—including co-passengers, healthcare workers, and family members—have been collected and sent for testing, as of 6 pm on April 16.

According to an update from Home Commissioner Abhijit Sinha, out of the 140, results for 100 have returned negative, while the remaining 40 awaits confirmation.

“So far, altogether 226 samples have been sent for testing from the state including 41 samples which have been sent today. Results of 184 samples have been received and all are negative, two samples will be sent for retest and results of 40 samples are awaited.

“I would like to inform that certain additional containment measures for preventing the spread of Covid-19 have been made applicable in the state with immediate effect. Among such additional measures is the mandatory requirement of wearing facemasks or face coverings in all public places and work places by all the citizens and completely refraining from spitting in public places. I appeal for adherence to all the additional containment measures also by every citizen,” he said.
