KOHIMA — As part of the preparations to herald the golden jubilee celebration of New Market Youth Organisation (NMYO) in Kohima, a special prayer day programme was conducted at New Market panchayat building on July 8.
The event was attended by past and present NMYO members and the jubilee organising committee.
During the special prayer programme, evangelist Atuo Whuorie highlighted the achievements of NMYO, particularly its successes in local football tournaments and other activities, which brought fame to the colony.
Whuorie also mentioned that the recent focus on development, beautification and civic sense initiated by the youth organisation in the colony was noteworthy. Whuorie encouraged everyone to set aside their differences and come together to reach new milestones.
The event was blessed by the presence of a large number of senior members.
Among others, Keneiselie Nakhro and Dr. Deli Rhezhü, convenor and secretary of the jubilee organising committee, addressed the gathering respectively.
Highlights of the day included Bible reading, prayer, song presentations, launch of the jubilee programme, fellowship meal and photo sessions.
Coordination meetings are also underway for NMYO golden jubilee celebration, which is scheduled on December 10.
