Niuland fish farmers trained on modern technologies of aquaculture

DIMAPUR — The Department of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources organised a three-day non residential training programme for farmers of Niuland district at Brooder Fish farm in Half Nagarjan, Dimapur.

The training, which concluded on Wednesday, was attended by as many as 25 fish farmers from five villages.

During the programme, the farmers were trained on the modern techniques of composite fish aquaculture and integrated system under PMMSY funded by National Fisheries Development Board during FY 2023-24, said an update from DPRO Dimapur.

DFO, Dr. Amenla, briefed the farmers on Kisan Credit Card (KCC) and Chief Minister’s Micro Finance Initiative (CMMFI), while AFIs Temjensoba and Theja were the resource persons of the programme.

Practical for testing water parameters, dissolved oxygen and iron content was also demonstrated, said the update.
