Ex-PAN executive council meeting

DIMAPUR — The Parliamentarians Association of Nagaland (Ex-PAN) has convened an executive council comprising of office bearers, advisors and executive members (district representatives) on June 20 at the Nagaland Legislative Assembly guest house, Darogapathar, at 11 am. Ex-PAN has requested all members to attend the meeting positively.

Dimapur Police recovers unidentified body

Dimapur Police on Sunday recovered the body of an unidentified non-local male, age around 60 years, opposite to flyover, Blue Hill Station, near PAB Dimapur.  The deceased was wearing blue, red and yellow coloured checked shirt and brown long pants. Police informed that inquest was conducted and no any foul play could be established. Claimant, relatives or friends of the deceased have been requested to contact the OC, East Police Station, Dimapur (7085055020).

Notice on PAC oral evidence meeting

Chairman of the Committee on Public Accounts, Mhathung Yanthan, MLA, has convened the Oral Evidence Meeting of the Public Accounts Committee, Nagaland Legislative Assembly, with the departmental representatives at from June 26 to the 28th. The committee will take oral evidence on the Audit para (s) of the government departments on the Report of the Comptroller and Auditor General of India 2018-2019. An update from NLA Secretariat informed all the AHoDs and HoDs of the departments concerned to be present on the specified dates to tender evidence before the committee.

NSCN (IM) condoles member’s demise

The NSCN IM) has condoled the demise of Steering Committee member ‘Lieut. Col. (Retd.)’ Vareso Machinao, who passed away on June 7. The NSCN (IM) in a condolence message stated that late Machinao from Mailiang village under Wung Tangkhul Region (WTR) joined the national service in 1992. “Till his last breath he stands firm for the Naga cause with unwavering spirit. The vacuum thus created will be difficult to fill,” it stated.

NSCN (Khango) to check illegal activities

The Home ministry of the NSCN/ GPRN (Khango) has informed that in view of the numerous complaints received from the public, the NSCN will be checking and controlling all forms of immoral and illegal activities.  Bootleggers and booze joints have been directed to shut down their shop before 10 pm. In this regard the NSCN directed its crime monitoring cell (CMC) staff to monitor regularly and defaulters would be liable for strict action.
