ACVA Wokha threatens bandh

All Commercial Vehicle Association (ACVA), Wokha, has expressed dismay over the reported “seizure of two vehicle (taxi) keys at Khedi Transport Agency, Taxi Counter, Kezieke NB III, Kohima” allegedly by NSCN (I-M) cadres for “not entertaining yearly vehicle tax”. In a condemnation note, AVCA Wokha president Y Bankathung Lotha, Action Committee convenor Khonthungo Lotha and the general secretary C Renbi Ngullie, stated that the association had decided to impose a ‘total indefinite bandh’ beginning from December 18 within Wokha jurisdiction if the NSCN (I-M) fails to hand over the keys to the owners on or before December 16. AVCA Wokha has further appealed to the Kohima district administration and law enforcement agencies to give protection to Wokha bound taxis for the safety of public.

EVM and VVPAT awareness in Wokha

District Election Officer and Deputy Commissioner, Wokha, Dr. Manazir Jeelani Samoon has informed that awareness and demonstration of EVM and VVPAT would be conducted in all the polling stations under Wokha starting from December 16 till January 2, 2018. Detail schedule for the said campaign has already being prepared. In this regard, the DC has requested all RO, AROs and sector magistrate to strictly supervise and monitor for the smooth conduct of the awareness and demonstration of EVM and VVPAT in their respective polling stations.

Unity club to observe annual day

Unity Club T Khel Kohima village has announced to observe its 38th annual day on December 17. The club president Daniel Solo has requested all the members and well wishers to come and be part of the programme scheduled at T Khel Kohima village.

Rengma Bosti convenes meet

Rengma Bosti, Khatkhati in Karbi Anglong has convened its annual general meeting on December 28 at 10 am. The village GB Gwahilo Kent Rengma has requested all the land owners within its jurisdiction to attend the proposed meeting without fail. He warned that fine of INR 5000 be imposed on the defaulters as resolved in the earlier meeting held on November 11.

CNTC Sumi calls meet

A meeting of all Sumi CNTC office bearers and executives, Western Sumi Hoho and Western Sumi Kukami Hoho has been convened at Tourist Lodge, Dimapur, on December 16 at 11 pm. Sumi CNTC media cell has informed all the concerned members to attend the proposed meeting without fail.

Kohima DPDB to observe Pre- Christmas

Kohima District Planning and Development Board (DPDB) has decided to organise a day out and pre-Christmas celebration on December 15at Dzuleke. According to the programme, DPDB chairman and parliamentary secretary of Labour and Employment and Skill Development, Dr. Neiphrezo Keditsu would deliver the opening remarks and also exhort the members. The Deputy Commissioner and vice chairman DPDB Kohima, Rajesh Soundararajan, would deliver the welcome address. Special song would be presented by administrative officers of ADC Chiephobozou and the vote of thanks would be delivered ADC planning and DPDB member secretary Ketoho Luho.
