DIMAPUR — A new fashion store in the commercial hub named ‘Lee’s Posh Mimic Boutique’ was inaugurated by Commissioner of Police, Dimapur, Kevithuto Sophie on Monday.
The boutique under the tagline “Create your own fashion story” is located at The Native Crossing building, opposite Sub-Jail near Eden Hospital.
Proprietor of the boutique Alila Pongener shared that this is her second venture after ‘Lee’s Mama and Baby’ boutique, which was opened in 2022.
Maintaining that there are very less options when it comes to affordable fashion accessory stores in the state, Pongener said this was why she decided to open the boutique.
The store offers bags, jewellery, sunglasses, belts, sandals and other accessories.
In her opinion, women are as successful as men in business today and so she encouraged women of all ages attempting to foray into business to not worry about anything but just focus and give their hundred percent to what they do an also enjoy the work.
In his speech, Kevithuto Sophie expressed that Nagas are style savvy and that there are many outlets with trendy fashions and outfits in Dimapur too. However, he said that most of the Nagas who go for branded items prefer to go outside the state or country to buy goods, and therefore the sales in branded stores within the state is bad.
He reasoned that when branded products are available in the state and at their doorstep, there is not much point to go outside the state to buy the same goods. He also encouraged the entrepreneurs to have patience and perseverance.
Toshi Longkumer, pastor of Merali fellowship, Dimapur Ao Baptist Arogo (DABA), led the dedicatory prayer.
