Netters ‘A’, 3 other teams book quarters berth at the ongoing 4th Men’s Open Basketball Trophy

Kohima, Sep. 14 (EMN): Netters ‘A’, Arintin Ventures, Don Bosco College and Ravens registered their berths for the quarter-final round at the ongoing 4th Men’s Open Basketball Trophy on Wednesday at Oriental College, Kohima.

Playing the first matches of the day, Netters ‘A’ defeated Imperium 91- 54 while Arintin Ventures beat Netters ‘B’ 57 – 43.

Don Bosco College edged past Kohima College 56 – 41 while Ravens won over Ophidians 61 – 45 in the third and fourth matches respectively.

With the win, Arintin Ventures will take on Griffins in the first quarter-final match at 9:30 am while Don Bosco College will clash with Orca in the second match at 10:30 am on Thursday.

In the third match, Ravens will play against Taurus at 12 noon while Netters ‘A’ will play against Sazolie College in the last match of the day scheduled at 1 pm.

The semi-final matches and the subsequent final have been scheduled to be played on Friday.

This year, the champions will walk away with a cash prize of INR 50,000 while runner- up will receive INR 30,000.

The most valuable player (MVP) will get a sum of INR 5,000.

The tournament is being conducted as part of the silver jubilee celebration of Oriental College, Kohima.
