Neivolie Zashümo today emerged the champion of Phesama Youth Organization (PYO) wrestling meet 2016 held at Panchayat Ground, Phesama village.
Vikehiezo Mejura came second while Anguto Mejura and Thejao Matthew Kuotsu won the third and fourth position respectively.
Southern Angami Sports Association (SASA) president, Zale Neikha who graced the event as the chief guest called upon the wrestlers to maintain discipline and determination to excel in the field.
He also extended invitation on the occasion to all to attend the forthcoming 54th SASA Wrestling Meet 2016, which is scheduled for January 28 to 29 to be held at Kohima Local Ground.The inaugural function of the sporting event was chaired by PYO tournament director, Rokovise Koutsu while PYO president, Medokolie Zashümo delivered presidential address. Following the inaugural programme, PYO sports secretary Visako Zashümo administered oath to 22 participating wrestlers.
Later in the day, the Angami Public Organization (APO) president, Dr. Vilhusa Seleyi graced the closing ceremony as the guest of honour and gave away prize to the winners.
