NEISSR organises placement drive, training programme on skills
DIMAPUR — The North East Institute of Social Sciences and Research (NEISSR) organised a placement drive on Wednesday at its premises in Chümoukedima for outgoing Master of Social Work students.
According to a press release, during the inaugural session, Fr. Dr. CP Anto stressed the importance of social work and employability skills for social work professionals.
He said that the youth of Nagaland and north-east India are hardworking, committed, creative, and open to learning in all environments and emphasised the importance of social work students entering the civil service and other competitive exams.
According to him, social workers can easily clear civil service exams as they study research, society, human development and growth, case work, group work, and community organisations.
The drive was held in collaboration with NGOs, hospitals, institutions, schools, colleges, and entrepreneurs, with various agencies from state, regional, and national levels participating. It stated that more than 100 students participated and benefited from the drive.
Training programme on skills
NEISSR also organised a three-day training programme on skills for social workers to equip students with vital skills, enhancing their employability and professional effectiveness, at its premises.
During the programme, students were trained in mastering job interview skills, resume writing, time management, and how to face group discussions.
The resource persons provided insights from the perspective of recruiters. The programme aimed to maximise skill enhancement and learning by combining theoretical knowledge with practical sessions.
Mock interviews, group discussions, and practical sessions on resume and CV preparation were also conducted.
The sessions were conducted by Rishav Sethi, a software developer and entrepreneur; Myanthung Ngullie, director of Hubshed Services Pvt. Ltd.; Benjamin Khasouso, assistant professor at NEISSR; and Ajay Sethi, managing director of NITI.
