DIMAPUR — In pursuance to the directive of National Professional Social Workers in India (NAPSWI), the North East Institute of Social Sciences and Research (NEISSR) observed the National Social Work Week on August 16 at Bishop Abraham Memorial Hall on the theme “School Social Work: Opportunities, Challenges and issues.”
The highlights of the event included presentation by Dr. Riche, assistant professor at Tetso College, who offered valuable insights into the opportunities and challenges in school social work.
Dr. Riche mentioned that there was a need to enhance the impact of social work in schools by integrating evidence-based practices, fostering strong community partnership and empowering social workers to better support students and navigate the complexities of the role effectively.
He ended his talk by encouraging the students to inculcate inclusivity and diversity to grow with positive values as professional social workers.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Phongam, BSW 5th semester student. He expressed his gratitude to the resource person and all the participants for their involvement and support.
