DIMAPUR — North East Institute of Social Sciences and Research (NEISSR) felicitated Neiketuno Sechu, the reigning Miss Nagaland, Top 8 finalist and Miss Popular at Miss Grand India 2024, on Wednesday at its premises in Chümoukedima.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Fr. C P Anto, principal of NEISSR, delivered the welcome address, highlighting the importance of quality education and the strength that comes from confidence, according to an update.
Sechu, reflecting on her journey and the role played by NEISSR in shaping her path, expressed her gratitude towards the institute. She stated that it was instrumental in her personal and professional development, giving her the strength to pursue her dreams even when the road seemed difficult and uncertain.

She encouraged her peers and fellow students to pursue their goals with determination and courage, regardless of the obstacles they might face. She acknowledged that not everyone is fortunate enough to have a strong support system but stressed that this should not deter them from following their dreams.
Dwelling on mental health, she highlighted the importance of addressing mental health issues, which are often overlooked or stigmatised in society. She shared that mental well-being is as important as physical health and encouraged everyone to take care of their mental health and support others who may be struggling.
Meanwhile, NEISSR, in collaboration with the National Professional Social Workers in India (NAPSW), observed the fifth day of the fifth National Social Work Week at the institute.
