NECDC holds first Achiever’s Nite 2021-22

Dimapur, Aug. 27 (EMN): North-East Cricket Development Committee (NECDC) held its first Achievers Nite 2021-2022 players’ awards and felicitation programme on the theme “Divided by Boundaries, United by Cricket” at Niathu Resort in Chümoukedima on Saturday.

President of Nagaland Cricket Association (NCA), Kechangulie Rio said that NCA felt honoured to host the first NECDC ‘Achiever’s Nite’ at Chümoukedima but it also gave them immense pleasure to acknowledge the achievements of their brilliant players who had made all the states and the NECDC proud.

Rio added that this event showcased the commitment that all the members had shown towards the development of cricket in their region and this ceremony has been observed to commemorate the achievements of their teams, support staff, athletes and all those people working day and night tirelessly.

HE said they were gathered to celebrate not only the achievement of the players, but also give due regard to their values and morals, which the awardees exemplified like discipline, compassion and zeal for excellence. He expressed hope that they would continue to achieve brilliance in their respective careers and other aspects of life as well.

While delivering short speech at the event, Secretary of CAM, governing council member of IPL, Mamon Majumdar said that Northeast states had come a long way and after affiliation to BCCI in 2018, the NECDC within four years, ‘the trust of BCCI towards the NECDC has increased from 25% to 99% through their tireless work and proper management’.

Majumdar added that the BCCI had also increased the funds and subsidies for the development of Northeast cricket and also reminded the association that the first preference should be given to the local players.

A short speech was also delivered by co-convenor of NECDC, Nababratta Bhattacharjee,  and vote of thanks was delivered by Vice president of ARCA, Vivek Nabam.

During the first Achievers Nite 2021-2022 players’ award and felicitation programme, Pheiroijam Jotin Singh of Manipur Cricket Association was awarded the best batter and Ankur Malik of Sikkim Cricket Association was awarded the best bowler in U-19 boy’s category

In the U-19 girls’ category, Samayita Roy Prodhan of Sikkim Cricket Association was awarded the best batter and Soyimkumla of Nagaland Cricket Association was awarded the best bowler.

Shubham Jhun Jhun Wala of Arunachal Cricket Association was awarded the best batter for Men’s U-25 category and  Ankur Malik of Sikkim Cricket Association was awarded the best bowler.

Waikhom Ganga Devi of Manipur Cricket Association was awarded the best batter under senior women’s category while Mangsatabam Chingkheileima Chanu of Manipur Cricket Association was awarded the best bowler.

Under Men’s senior category, Nitesh Sedai of Manipur Cricket Association was awarded the best batter and Imliwati Lemtur was awarded the best bowler.

Awards for group toppers

 The women’s U-19 one-day trophy award for group topper was awarded to Sikkim Cricket Association; men’s U-19 Vinoo Mankad Trophy was awarded to Nagaland Cricket Association; Men’s U-19 Cooch Behar Trophy was awarded to Arunachal Cricket Association; Men’s U-25 Col. C K Nayudu Trophy was awarded to Sikkim Cricket Association, Senior Women’s T-20 Trophy and Senior Men’s Ranji Trophy was awarded to Nagaland Cricket Association.
