NE Sports Week: Nagaland women’s team secure bronze in TT

Imphal, April 29 (EMN): Nagaland’s women table tennis team won bronze in the team event on the second day of the ongoing North Eastern Council sponsored week-long Northeast regional sports week in Imphal on Friday.

Similarly, both men’s and women’s teams of Nagaland also won bronze medal in archery recurve event, according to Zhopovi Zecho, Chief de-mission of Nagaland. In women’s football, Nagaland team defeated Mizoram by 4-0 goals.

Meanwhile, Assam’s women table tennis team won gold in the team event. In their final match played at DM University Campus Indoor Hall, Assam’s women team beat Mizoram team by 3-1. The team comprise of – Adrija Sarmah, Meghna Rosel, Pratiksha Konwar, Liya M Husain and Akankhya Borpujari.

With this, Assam has won three gold, two silver and one bronze so far.

The tourney will conclude on May 3.
