A joint declaration programme for both the NDPP and Congress candidates of 23 Impur assembly constituency, was held at Senden Salang, Süngratsü village, on February 16.

The constituency will witness a straight contest between two retired IAS officers – TN Mannen from NDPP and Bendangkokba from the Congress.

During the programme, the Congress candidate presented his vision of “a rural city” while the NDPP candidate focused on development of agri & allied sectors.

Bendangkokba argued that the root causes of migration from rural to urban areas are mainly due to vast gap between urban and rural areas in terms of education, health care sector and other basic amenities.

To address these issues, he said a well-balanced development initiative is needed so that rural areas can catch up with urban areas.
