DIMAPUR — The officials of the Nagaland Contractors’ and Suppliers Union (NCSU) met with Imna Meren Ao, the new engineer-in-chief (E-in-C) of the Nagaland Public Works Department (NPWD), in his official chamber for a coordination meeting in Kohima on Monday.
During the meeting, the union officials informed the E-in-C and departmental representatives about the resolution from the NCSU general meeting held on July 7, which called for the total implementation of the yearly work programme across all government departments in Nagaland.
The union also demanded open tender in all government establishments to ensure transparency in accordance with government standing orders, according to a press release.
The union has further appealed to Imna to ensure that only genuine cases for new Class-I government registration, authenticated by the union, are considered. The union assured full cooperation with the NPWD to ensure justice for both the public and the contractor community.
The engineer-in-chief, in his address, emphasised the need for collaboration between the department and the contractor fraternity to develop the state. He also appealed to contractors to uphold the quality of workmanship and commended the NCSU for the meeting.
