NCORD conducts inspection in Longleng, review meeting in Mokokchung

DIMAPUR — The Narco Coordination Centre (NCORD) in Longleng district conducted an inspection drive on June 18 in all drug stores/pharmacies within the Longleng Town Council area.

According to a DIPR report, a team comprising EAC Longleng Vitolu Chishi, Drug Control Officer Tsuniungrenla Jamir, police personnel, and dobashis inspected 28 drug stores to ensure compliance with CCTV installation and maintenance of registers.

During the inspection, the team noted that the pharmacies had not installed proper CCTV facilities, except for PJ Pharmacy in Bahok Ward.

Mokokchung: The monthly review meeting of the district-level committee for NCORD Mokokchung was held on June 18 at the DC conference hall in Mokokchung. The meeting was chaired by Deputy Commissioner Mokokchung, Thsuvisie Phoji.

The chairman stressed on the occasion the significance of the monthly review meeting to address the issue of drug menace in the district.

Reviewing the agendas from the last meeting, the CMO was instructed to proceed with inspecting CCTV installations at pharmacies in the district.

On the ongoing substance abuse awareness programme, the DEO informed the assembly that the programme would resume after the summer break. Sr. SP Mokokchung also briefed the assembly on the various activities conducted by the police to combat the drug menace.

To commemorate the International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking, the house proposed conducting a half marathon event on June 22.

The half marathon will commence at 5:30 am at DEF, Mokokchung, and conclude at Main Police Point (Imlong Place). The event will feature two categories—high school/higher secondary students (male and female) and open (senior) (male and female).
