DIMAPUR — In pursuant to the Ministry of Education, Department of Higher Education letter dated July 24, the Nagaland Board of School Education (NBSE) informed that the national scholarship portal for Pradhan Mantri Uchchatar Shiksha Protsahan Central Sector of Scholarship for College and University Students (PM-USP CSSS) is now live for application from the students in higher education.
It mentioned that students who were placed in the top twenty percentile in higher secondary school leaving certificate examination (HSSLC) and with gross parental annual income up to INR 4.5 lakhs are eligible to apply for the scholarship through the national scholarship portal (https://scholarships.gov.in).
NBSE has requested the heads of concerned college/ institution to spread awareness about the scheme to the students.
Schools told to promote NCC
In another statement, NBSE has informed all the registered head of institutions that the Government of Nagaland has given emphasis on the significance and importance of NCC and to promote the enrollment and active participation of the students in the state.
It stated that schools are the backbone of training in NCC in Nagaland. For ease of functioning, it stated that there should be perfect coordination between the educational institutions, NCC units and department of School Education/ NBSE to ensure wholesome NCC training to benefit the students of Nagaland.
Head of institutions are requested to facilitate and make provisions for the use of school infrastructure, when approached through the competent authority. Institutions with NCC cadets are requested to facilitate NCC training in the best possible way.
