NBCC youth department holds inclusive youth camp for PwDs
DIMAPUR — The Youth Department of Nagaland Baptist Church Council (NBCC) organised an inclusive youth camp for persons with disabilities (PwDs) and the Nagamese Baptist Churches Association (NBCA) at Life Spring Corner, Dimapur, from Aug. 2 to the 4th.
In a press release, the NBCC youth department informed that the youth camp was held on the theme “5G” (God, Grow, Genuine, Give and Go), inspired by 1 Timothy 4:12.
The camp’s speakers were Rev. Suhuto (youth secretary of the NBCC) and Diethono Nakhro, State Commissioner for Persons with Disabilities.
A total of 103 campers participated in the camp, including 19 PwD campers with six caregivers for the blind and one sign language interpreter, ensuring that everyone could fully engage in the programme.
“The camp was particularly notable for its commitment to inclusivity, highlighting the importance of creating an environment where everyone is welcome and can participate fully. It emphasised the need for an inclusive community and the church’s mission to reflect Christ’s love and acceptance for all individuals, regardless of their abilities,” the release stated.
