National BJP President inaugurates party office in Manipur

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) National President, J P Nadda who is on a two-day visit to Manipur, inaugurated the newly constructed party’s office locally known as ‘Thambal Shanglen’ in Imphal on Sunday.

Speaking on the occasion, BJP National President Nadda said that Manipur is the gateway of Independence and with the initiative of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the state has become the gateway of development.

Narrating how the number of MLAs increased since the party got its first MLA in 1995, the BJP chief however appealed to take up research works on how the BJP government took up development works in the last five years in the state in public interest.

Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh also spoke on the occasion. Earlier in the day, the BJP chief along with the senior leaders of the party from centre and state visited Shree Shree Govindaji Temple and Ibudhou Makhangba, local deity at the residence of Rajya Sabha MP Maharaja Leishemba Sanajaoba.

J P Nadda accompanied by chief minister Biren Singh, senior party leaders also called on the newly appointed state Governor La Ganesan at Raj Bhavan in Imphal.

In a tweet on Sunday, Biren Singh wrote, “Called on Hon’ble Governor of Manipur Shri La Ganesan Ji along with Shri J P Nadda Ji and other Senior Party leaders. We had a very insightful discussion on development and welfare of the people of Manipur.” He also attended an intellectual meet at City Convention in Imphal.
