Dimapur, July 9 (EMN): With the lapse of 16 days since submission of its representation and with response from the government, the Northern Angami Students’ Union (Nasu) has reminded the government to fulfil its charter of demand at the earliest.

While acknowledging the selfless service rendered by the staffs and management of every institution both aided or unaided establishments, the union has urged the government to pass an order directing all unaided recognised private institutions to waive off certain percent of tuition fees for the unutilised facilities until formal or physical classes resume.

The union president and the general secretary have also urged the institutions/ school management to not debar students from attending exams, online classes on account of non-payment of fees, arrears, outstanding fees. It also requested the institutions/ school management to not withhold the results of the examination of any students on account of non-payment of fees, arrears, outstanding fees.

The union has also urged the institutions/ school management to consider request made by the parents who are finding it difficult to remit annual fees due to financial/ economic hardships caused by the lockdown.

The union, while reiterating its stand to leave no stone unturned in serving the students community, has reminded the government that it is ready to move forward with any legal/ appropriate course of action if its demands fell on deaf ears. The union has further thanked the Naga Students’ Federation (NSF) for accepting its request and for standing in solidarity with the cause.
