Namziegwambe wins inter-school essay writing contest
Kohima, Oct. 31 (EMN): Namziegwambe of TM Government Higher Secondary School won the first prize of the inter-school essay writing competition held on the topic ‘National unity,’ while Thejakhriezo Pienyü from G Rio School was adjudged as the runners-up and N Wanjai Konyak of TM government Higher Secondary School bagged the third place. Around 100 students participated in the essay writing competition.
The prize distribution ceremony was held on October 31 at TM Government Higher Secondary School. The competition was organized by Rashtriya Madhyamik Shiksha Abhiyan (RMSA), State Mission Office Kohima.
Speaking on the significance of Rashtriya Ekta Diwas, Visiezolie Yashii, Joint Mission Director of RMSA, said Rashtriya Ekta Diwas (National Unity Day) is observed across India on October 31 to commemorate the birth anniversary of Independent India’s first Deputy Prime Minister, Sardar Vallabhai Patel.
While stating that the day is a unity day, he hoped everyone will work for unity from this day onwards despite out differences and egos.
“Let us all declared ourselves to make a stronger relationship with our neighbour,” he implored and urged the students to shun discrimination but treat everyone equally.
He further asked to treat others equally as a family stating that manpower without unity has no strength. To live in a society, you need to build up your intergradations, Yashü maintained.
