Dimapur, Feb. 26 (EMN): Nagaland has been witnessing a decline in weekly Covid-19 cases for four consecutive weeks with weekly sample positivity rate decreasing from 4.5% to 1.9%.

As many as 55 new cases and one death were reported in the week ending Feb. 25, according to the Health department’s weekly bulletin.

“One Covid-19 death was reported from Dimapur. The patient had comorbidities and was not vaccinated. Vaccination including precautionary (3rd dose) dose among the high risk (elderly and those with comorbidities) is most essential to reduce deaths and hospital admissions as Covid-19 disease is here to stay,” it said,

“Covid-19 hospital admissions continue to show a declining trend. Eight admissions were recorded from the week (Dimapur-7, Longleng-1),” it stated, adding that 15.45 lakh doses of vaccine have been administered across the state so far including 78,602 doses in the 15–18-year-old age group.
