Nagaland: Toyota technical education programme launched at NTTC

Dimapur, Sep. 23 (EMN): Toyota Technical Education Programme (T-TEP), a skill enhancement and employability initiative, was inaugurated by the commissioner and secretary of Industries and Commerce department, Kekhrievor Kevichusa, at Nagaland Tool Room and Training Centre (NTTC), Dimapur, on Friday.

Dealer Principal of Okusa Toyota, Vikheho Swu, in his address at the inaugural programme, said through the initiative, students will get opportunity for continuous learning on the latest technologies through e-learning, classroom training, practical training and on-job training.

Swu said that this is the first T-TEP facility in Nagaland and conveyed gratitude to Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) for understanding the difficulties and challenges in getting qualified manpower as well as the Government of Nagaland for the support extended to the auto industry.

He also assured that students from Nagaland will get training on advanced technologies and that Okusa Toyota will support ‘on-the-job’ training.

Swu further said that through skill enhancement, students will become employable in the automobile industry besides earning respect in the society with the desired skill.

“From Okusa Toyota, we will extend all possible support to nurture and enhance students’ skill and make them employable,” he assured.

Kevichusa shared that NTTC is one asset of the Industry department and lauded the officers and staff of NTTC for “taking steps to grow by themselves.”

“This training initiative with Toyota is one of the most progressive and inventive ideas, and Okusa has been very supportive in setting up the centre and also in absorbing trainees,” he said.

He added that the programme enhance skills and increase employability chances of the youth.
