Nagaland to take part in 3×3 senior national basketball championship

DIMAPUR — The Nagaland Basketball Association (NBA) has informed that Nagaland state 3×3 senior men and women basketball teams will be competing in the third 3×3 Senior National Basketball Championship for men and women, to be held at the Nehru Indoor Stadium, Chennai, from September 22 to the 24th.

The championship is organised by the Tamil Nadu Basketball Association under the aegis of Basketball Federation of India.

The top seven teams will qualify for the upcoming 37th National Games scheduled to be held at Goa. The competition is played in a round-robin format in the preliminary round followed by the knock-out phase, NBA stated in an update.

Thejangulie Mekro will lead the men’s team and the women’s team will be led by Reena Rai. The teams are scheduled to leave for Chennai on September 21.

The men’s team members are Thejangulie Mekro, Keneitseizo Belho, Keneilezo James Tale and Rilise K Thonger. The Women’s team members are Reena Rai, Ravulo, Lelevino Kere and Kevingutuo Terhuja.
