Nagaland State AIDS Control Society conducts training for ANM, CHO
Dimapur, March 25 (EMN): Nagaland State AIDS Control Society (NSACS), with technical support from Share India, conducted training for ANM and CHO on HIV and Syphilis screening in three districts.
An update from NSACS stated that the training in Wokha was conducted on February 16, while for Mon district on February 28 and March 1 and for Zunheboto district on March 17.
Resource persons of the training included Dr. M Nukshisangla Jamir, deputy director of NSACS; Dr. Puleno Kennao, project officer of Share India; Vikehiel Thapo, consultant of Share India; and lab technicians.
Report stated that nurses were imparted on the importance of early testing, linkage and treatment through prevention of parent to child transmission (PPTCT) services and community based screening (CBS) during the training. It added that slides on the national viral hepatitis control programme were also shared during the training.
It further stated that hands-on training on whole blood finger prick test on HIV and Syphilis testing were also demonstrated to the trainees.
