Dimapur, May 2 (EMN): Sumi Baptist Akukuhou Kuqhakulu (SBAK) Nito Mount organised a three-day mission conference at Koiboto from April 29 to May 1 on the theme ‘Apiti Kivi Xusu Lo’ plant a good seed.

Advisor for Tourism, Art and Culture Khehovi Yepthomi while delivering the greetings during the conference lauded the organisation committee for building and strengthening the faiths and belief of the people by organising the spiritual conference.

He stated that one doesn’t necessarily have to be a theologian to do mission works and shared that the first Baptist Christian missionary to India was William Carey, who was a cobbler.

While lamenting about the sufferings of the missionaries, he asserted that the reason was due to lack of mission structure, an update stated.

He further suggested that an association should train a passionate person well who is willing to go for a mission.

While drawing parallels of missionaries to army personnel, he added that the personnel aren’t handed ammunition right after recruitment but after months and years of training. Similarly, the missionaries should be well trained before sending them off to the mission field.

DIG (Hq) PHQ Joseph Hesso also spoke during the conference on the topic ‘To strengthen and encourage mission’ (Puwu keu kümla shikumto tsuni).

The speakers of the conference were Rev. Hukugha Zhimo Executive Secy SBAK NM, Rev. Atovi N Assumi Secretary Mission and Evangelism SABAK (Pughoboto) and Tokugha Awomi Finance Secretary SBAK NM.
