Nagaland reports of 39 new Covid-19 cases; more than 34K in India

Nagaland recorded a single-day rise of 39 Covid-19 positive cases on Monday, taking the tally to 35,235 while the active caseload declines to 434 with recovery of 67 patients — 47 in Dimapur, 11 in Kohima, four in Mokokchung, two each in Phek and Wokha and one in Mon.

The state’s cumulative recoveries has increased to 32,575 while the death toll remains unchanged at 748 with no fresh fatalities reported in the last 24 hours. 

According to an update from the department of Health and Family Welfare, 25 positive cases were reported in Dimapur, 11 in Kohima, two in Tuensang and one in Wokha on Monday.

Out 434 active cases in the state, 314 are asymptomatic, 108 mild, nine moderate on oxygen and three in ICU.

In terms of distribution of active cases, Dimapur has 252 infections, 138 in Kohima, 10 in Mokokchung, eight in Peren, 10 in Tuensang, five each in Longleng and Wokha, four in Phek and one each in Zunheboto and Mon, while Kiphire is currently Covid-19 free.

34K new cases in India

Meanwhile, India reported 34,113 fresh Covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours, taking the country’s tally to 4,26,65,534, while the active caseload dropped to 4,78,882, according to the data provided by the Union Health ministry.

The death toll has climbed to 5,09,011 with 346 more fatalities recorded in the last 24 hours and the recuperation of 91,930 more patients has pushed the total number of recoveries to 4,16,77,641.

The update went on to inform that 172.95 crore Covid vaccine doses have been administered across the country so far.
