Nagaland reports 8 new COVID cases, 2 recoveries

Dimapur, Aug. 31 (EMN): The number of active COVID-19 cases in Nagaland increased to 17 with eight new cases reported on Wednesday.

According to the update from the department of Health and Family Welfare, the total number of COVID cases in the state stands at 35,915 with three new cases reported in Mokokchung, two each in Dimapur and Kohima and one in Mon during the last 24 hours.

With the recovery of two patients — one each in Dimapur and Kiphire — the state’s cumulative recoveries have increased to 33,609.

Meanwhile, the death toll from the pandemic stands at 772.

Out of the 17 active cases, 11 are asymptomatic and six mild. In terms of district-wise distribution of active cases, Kohima has five cases, four in Dimapur, three each in Longleng and Mokokchung, and one each in Kiphire and Mon, while the remaining districts are currently COVID-free.
