Nagaland reports 63 fresh Covid-19 cases, 4 deaths; 1.27 lakh in India

Dimapur, Feb. 5 (EMN): Nagaland recorded a single-day rise of 63 Covid-19 positive cases on Saturday, taking the tally to 34,822 while the active caseload declined to 738 with recovery of 99 more patients.

The state’s cumulative recoveries has increased to 31,897 following recuperation of 68 patients in Dimapur, 14 in Kohima, six in Mokokchung, five each in Phek and Wokha, and one in Tuensang. The death toll also increased to 737 with four fresh fatalities reported in the last 24 hours. 

According to an update from the department of Health and Family Welfare, 36 positive cases were reported in Dimapur, 18 in Kohima, three in Mokokchung, four in Peren and one each in Longleng and Mon.

Out of 738 active cases in the state, 565 are asymptomatic, 155 mild, 10 moderate on oxygen, one severe on oxygen, two in ICU and five in ICU on ventilator

In terms of distribution of active cases, Dimapur has 535 infections, 128 in Kohima, 29 in Tuensang, 13 in Mokokchung, 11 in Peren, six each in Wokha and Mon, five in Longleng, four in Zunheboto and one in Kiphire, while Phek is currently Covid-19 free.

India records 1,059 deaths

India on Saturday recorded 1,27,952 fresh coronavirus cases, taking the country’s infection tally to 4,20,80,664, according to data from the  Union Health Ministry.

The death toll climbed to 5,01,114 with 1,059 more fatalities, the data stated.

Meanwhile, the number of active cases declined to 13,31,648 with the recovery of 2,30,814 patients in the last 24 hours.

With the administration of more than 47 lakh (47,53,081) vaccine doses, India’s Covid-19 vaccination coverage has exceeded 168.98 crore (1,68,98,17,199).
