Nagaland reports 58 new Covid-19 cases, no deaths; India logs 42618 new cases
Eastern Mirror DeskDimapur, Sep. 4 (EMN): Nagaland recorded 58 new Covid-19 cases on Saturday, pushing the state’s tally to 30,302.
The department of Health and Family Welfare updated that Dimapur reported 31 new Covid cases, seven each in Kohima and Phek, five each in Peren and Wokha, two in Kiphire, and one in Mokokchung.
The state also registered 58 recoveries in the last 24 hours, thus taking the cumulative recoveries to 28,018 while death toll remained the same at 612 with no new fatalities being reported.
Out of the recoveries recorded on Saturday, 34 were in Dimapur, nine in Zunheboto, eight in Mokokchung, six in Kohima, and one in Phek.
The Health department also updated that out of the current total active cases in the state, 593 were asymptomatic, 108 mild, 11 moderate on oxygen, 25 severe on oxygen, eight in ICU without ventilator, and six in ICU on ventilator.
In terms of district-wise distribution of active Covid-19 cases, Dimapur has 342, Mokokchung- 136, Kohima- 135, Phek- 36, Mon- 26, Wokha, 23, Zunheboto- 20, Kiphire- 12, Longleng- 9, Peren- 7, and Tuensang- 4.
42618 new cases in India
India reported 42,618 coronavirus infections on Saturday, pushing the country’s total caseload to 3,29,45,90, according to data from the Union Health Ministry.
It said that 330 deaths were also reported during the period, taking the death toll to 4,40,225.
Meanwhile, 36,385 patients recovered in the last 24 hours, while the cumulative tally of recovered patients stands at 3,21,00,001.
It further stated that India’s Covid-19 vaccination coverage has surpassed the cumulative figure of 67.72 crore (67,72,11,205).
