Nagaland reports 145 new Covid-19 cases, 2 deaths; tally rises to 28217

Dimapur, Aug. 4 (EMN): As many as 145 new Covid-19 cases and two fatalities were reported in Nagaland in the last 24 hours.
This has pushed state’s Covid-19 tally to 28,217 and death toll to 565 so far.
Covid-19 cases
An update from the department of Health and Family Welfare informed that Kohima recorded 49 fresh Covid cases on Wednesday, 36 in Dimapur, 16 in Mokokchung, 15 in Longleng, 10 in Peren, six in Wokha, five in Zunheboto, four in Phek, three in Kiphire and one in Mon.
The state also registered 79 recoveries, out of which 42 were in Kohia, 11 in Mon, 10 in Dimapur, five in Mokokchung, four each in Kiphire and Phek, and three in Zunheboto. This took the total recoveries in the state to 25516.
Nagaland currently has 1,321 active Covid-19 cases, out of which 1,066 are asymptomatic, 201 mild, 25 moderate on oxygen, 14 severe on oxygen, nine in ICU without ventilator, and six in ICU on ventilator.
In terms of district-wise distribution of active cases, Kohima leads with 472, followed by Dimapur- 430, Mokokchung- 202, Tuensang- 56, Mon- 32, Peren- 30, Longleng- 27, Phek- 21, Wokha- 19, Kiphire- 18, and Zunheboto- 11.
India records 42625 new cases
Meanwhile, India logged 42,625 new Covid-19 cases in last 24 hours, taking the country’s tally to 3,17,69,132 (3.17 crore) and the active caseload to 4,10,353 (4.10 lakh), according to data provided by the Union Health Ministry.
The death toll climbed to 4,25,757 (4.25 lakh) with 562 more patients succumbing to the disease.
India also registered 36,668 recoveries in the last 24 hours, pushing the cumulative figures to 3,09,33,022 (3.09 crore) so far.
Out of the total caseload, active cases constitute 1.29%, while weekly positivity rate currently stands at 2.36% and daily positivity rate at 2.31%, according to the Health Ministry.
