Nagaland records 60 new Covid-19 cases, 2 deaths

Nagaland recorded 60 new Covid-19 positive cases on Friday, taking the state’s tally to 25,787.

The Health and Family Welfare Department updated that out of the 60 new cases detected on Friday, Dimapur reported highest infections with 19, followed by Mokokchung with 11, seven in Kohima, five in Zunheboto, four in Longleng, three each in Mon, Peren, Phek and Wokha, and one each in Kiphire and Tuensang.

The state also recorded 86 recoveries in the last 24 hours, out of which 37 were in Dimapur, 15 in Kohima, 14 in Wokha, 12 in Mokokchung, six in Peren, and two in Mon.

Nagaland currently has 975 active Covid-19 cases, out of which 842 are asymptomatic, 77 mild, 27 moderate on oxygen, 14 severe on oxygen, eight in ICU without ventilator, and seven in ICU on ventilator.

In regard to the district-wise distribution of active Covid-19 cases, Kohima has 295, 256 in Dimapur, 222 in Mokokchung, 39 in Peren, 38 in Phek, 37 in Mon, 22 each in Kiphire and Zunheboto, 21 in Wokha, 15 in Tuensang, and eight in Longleng.

A total of 23,587 recoveries have been registered and 493 deaths with two more casualties reported in the last 24 hours.

More than 43K Covid cases in India

Meanwhile, 43,393 new Covid-19 cases were reported in India in the last 24 hours, taking the country’s tally to 3,07,52,950 (3.07 crore), while the active cases declined to 4,58,727 (4.58 lakh), according to the date provided by the Union Health Ministry.

A total of 911 fresh fatalities were also recorded, pushing the death toll to 4,05,939 (4.05 lakh).

The country has registered 2,98,88,284 (2.98 crore) recoveries so far with 44,459 patients declared Covid-negative in the last 24 hours. The recovery rate stands at 97.19%

‘Weekly positivity rate remains below 5%, currently at 2.36%, while daily positivity rate stands at 2.42%, less than 3% for 18 consecutive days,’ read the update.

“Testing capacity substantially ramped up – 42.70 cr. tests total conducted,” it added.

The Health ministry also informed that 36.89 crore vaccine doses have been administered so far under nationwide vaccination drive.
