Nagaland: Preparation underway for WSBAK platinum jubilee
Dimapur, Dec. 5 (EMN): The Western Sümi Baptist Churches Association (WSBAK), which is the banner of 178 churches in the Western Sümi area, will be celebrating its platinum jubilee on December 10 and 11 at WSBAK Mission Centre, Aküvüto, Thahekhü, on the theme “Ebenezer” (I Samuel 7:12).
An update informed that the first day of the celebration will commence with the inauguration of WSBAK Mission Centre gate by Picto Shohe, MLA, and will be dedicated by Rev. Dr. Phughoto Sema, ES, WSBAK.
This will be followed by jubilee concert and cultural programme where Picto Shohe and Tovihoto Ayemi, Advisor, Dept. of Power, will exhort and greet the gathering.
Alobo Naga, Nagagenous, NK Naga, and Pretty Rhythm are some of the prominent artistes out of the 20 performers for the concert. Folk items such as war song, orphan song, traditional fire making, ‘aqhesho,’ ‘liphile,’ ‘kughusho,’ and ‘aghütsükulu’ will be a part of cultural programme to be performed by different churches under WSBAK.
Two services will mark the second day of the celebration where people will witness the release of 75 balloons. President, WSBAK Council, Ahoto Sema will deliver welcome address and Azheto Zhimomi, MLA, will release the platinum jubilee commemorative magazine. PHED minister, Jacob Zhimomi and PHED and Member of Parliament, Tokheho Yepthomi, will also exhort the gathering.
Rev. Dr. Hevukhu Achumi, Sr. pastor, Thilixü Baptist Church and Rev. S Vitoshe Swu, Sr. pastor, Dimapur Sümi Baptist Church, will be the speakers.
Choirs from Chakhroma Baptist Church Council Choir and Zeme Baptist Church Council will also present special songs on the second day, it stated.
