Nagaland Pradesh Kisan Congress to join ‘Bharat Bandh’; peaceful protest on Dec. 8

Kohima, Dec. 7 (EMN): Expressing solidarity with the farmer unions’ call for ‘Bharat Bandh’, the Nagaland Pradesh Kisan Congress (NPKC) will stage a sit-in outside the Dimapur District Congress Bhavan, from 3 pm on December 8.

A circular stated that Indian farmers have been demanding the withdrawal of the farm laws passed by the central government, while the Centre in adamant on implementing the laws.

Therefore, the farmers’ wing of the party will join the rest of the country in organising a display of ‘democratic solidarity’ towards the call of the Indian farmers, it informed.

Sources from Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee (NPCC) also confirmed this to Eastern Mirror on Monday. A member from the party informed that it will be a ‘peaceful protest’.
