The Nagaland Pencak Silat team displaying their medals won at the 6th North East Pencak Silat Championship.

DIMAPUR — The Nagaland Pencak Silat team secured the first runners-up trophy at the 6th North East Pencak Silat Championship held at Sarusajai Indoor Stadium, Guwahati, Assam, from July 12 to the 14th.

The team won 28 gold, 16 silver and 15 bronze medals, stated an update from Nagaland Pencak Silat Association (NPSA).

The championship saw the participation of over 680 athletes, both male and female, from all the North Eastern states competing in various categories including sub-junior, pre-teen, teen, pre-junior, junior and senior.

Assam emerged the overall champions, while Nagaland and Manipur were placed first and second runners-up, respectively.

The Nagalnd Pencak Silat athletes were led by its NPSA president Khevishe Sema, vice president Hetoi Sema, general secretary and head coach Deep Kumar and referees Tiayanger Imsong and Kuhoshe Chishi.
