Nagaland: Orientation held for Jal Shakti fellows, interns
DIMAPUR — A one-day orientation programme for Jal Shakti fellow and interns under Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) Support Activity 2023-24, was held at SIRD Auditorium, Kohima, on Thursday.
Principal Secretary, PHED, E Mhonbemo Patton, in his address encouraged the Jal Shakti fellows and interns to take up the challenges before them and to make the best use of the resources in fulfilling “Har Ghar Jal” aspiration and goals, an update stated.
In the technical session, Yanger Pongen, executive engineer (Technical) PHED, gave a power point presentation on the ‘Overview of Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM)’ while Ichirang Zeliang, Executive engineer, Sanitation & WSSO, PHED, also shared a power point presentation on the ‘Overview of Swachh Bharat Mission (Grameen) and support activity of JJM.’
This was followed by a power point presentation on ‘Water quality monitoring and surveillance (JJM WQMIS)’ by Dr. O Chonchibeni Ezung, hydro-geologist.
Highlight on ‘Har Ghar Jal App for JJM & SBM (G) 2.0 mobile App’ was presented by Ashale Seb, District coordinator, Kohima.
A power point presentation on ‘Social behaviour change communication (SBCC) tools, water conservation, source sustainability, WASH activities’ were presented by Ellies Yanthan and Hongkin Chang, NEIDA (WASH partner & ISA of PHED), respectively.
The technical session was followed by an open discussion.
Earlier, the programme was chaired by Wonjanbeni Odyuo, executive engineer, PHED, and welcome note delivered by Repangyangba Longkumer, chief engineer and HoD, PHED.
Opening remarks and role of Jal Shakti Fellow was presented by Thsathrichem Sangtam, chief engineer, Sanitation and WSSO, PHED.
