Nagaland: NSCN/GPRN appoints ato kilonser

Dimapur, May 31 (EMN): Akato Chophi-led NSCN/GPRN has appointed Michael Yeptho, son of Khehokhu Yeptho and founder chief of Khehokhu and Thahekhu village as its general secretary and ato kilonser.

Michael Yeptho was administered oath of allegiance and office of secrecy by its president, Akato Chophi, during its national hoho held on May 31 in Hoito village, an update from NSCN/GPRN through its MIP stated on Tuesday.

Having being qualified with all the requisite criteria as enshrined in Part 3, Article 17, Section A, B & C of the Constitution (Yehzabo), the name of Michael was proposed by a senior member of the collective leadership, Viniho Kiho and was seconded by the Home kilonser, Nokrang Lanu Aier, which was followed by members present with show of hands, the statement read.

It stated that the official declaration was pronounced by the speaker of the house, SG Hollo.

Meanwhile, NSCN/GPRN also welcomed members from NSCN (I-M) comprising of both Naga army and civil wings led by executive members of steering committee, Brigadier Vikato Yeptho and Brigadier Atoshe Chophi, who also shared their views in the house.

With the appointment of a new general secretary and ato kilonser and senior members from other factions, NSCN/GPRN expressed optimism that it would definitely strengthen and propel them to achieve greater heights in the common political journey of the Nagas.
