Dimapur, May 19 (EMN): A two-day external assessment for National Quality Assurance Standards (NQAS) certification at PHC Mongsenyimti in Mokokchung district was conducted on May 17 and 18.

It stated that the chief medical officer (CMO) of Mokokchung, Dr. R Chubala Aier, has welcomed all the external assessors, team from Directorate of Health and Family Welfare, Kohima, staff from Mongsenyimti PHC, HCMC, members from the community and staff from the office of the CMO. She also thanked the community for their cooperation and contribution towards the PHC and urged their continual support for quality health care services, an update from CMO office stated.

It added that Dr. Maongkala, medical officer of PHC Mongsenyimti, made a PowerPoint presentation by highlighting the achievements, organogram, visions and missions.

It stated that NQAS external assessment was assessed by a two-member team namely Col. Dr. RK Agarwal, project director at Lucknow, and Dr. Vikas Moudgil, additional SMO of Health department, Haryana.

It mentioned that NQAS certification programme is the highest national quality certification for public health facilities, which was launched in the year 2013 to improve the quality in healthcare services. The certification would be awarded against the fulfillment of the national quality assurance standard criteria accredited by International Society for Quality in Healthcare (ISQua).

It further stated that PHC Mongsenyimti was the first PHC in Nagaland to qualify for NQAS external assessment.
