Nagaland: NIEPID organises training for caregivers

Kohima, March 28 (EMN): Team of professionals from National Institute for the Empowerment of Persons with Intellectual Disabilities (Divyangjan) (NIEPID), Secunderabad, in collaboration with the State Commissioner for Persons with Disabilities and Nagaland’s State Disability Forum (NSDF), conducted a training programme for caregivers on ‘Inclusion of persons with intellectual and developmental disabilities.’

A press release from the organisers stated that Diethono Nakhro, State Commissioner for Persons with Disabilities, was the chief guest of the function.

It stated that awareness on various aspects of inclusion of children with special needs, various schemes and benefits being offered by government of India (GoI) and Kiran MHRH Helpline were taught to the participants by the team of professionals consisting of Dr. Ravi Prakash, officer in-charge of NIEPID RC Navi Mumbai; Dr. Neeraj Mishra, lecturer occupational therapy at CRC Davangere; and Keerti Sudha Rajput, rehabilitation psychologist.
