Unidentified person dies during treatment
DIMAPUR — One unidentified non-Naga male, aged around 65-70 years, succumbed to illness while undergoing treatment at District Hospital, Dimapur, on November 28. According to a police report, the deceased was found with serious illness at platform No. 2 of Dimapur railway station on November 25. The body of the deceased, wearing a black trouser and white shirt, has been shifted to the hospital morgue for post mortem examination and identification. Relatives and friends of the deceased are requested to contact the officer-in-charge of GRPS, Dimapur, on mobile No. 7085055021 for further information.
PG Dimapur posted as advisor of NEC
DIMAPUR — Postmaster General, NE-II region, Dimapur, Som Kamei, has been posted on deputation as planning advisor of North Eastern Secretariat (NEC), Shillong, under the Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region (DONER). An update from OSD to the Postmaster General stated that the tenure of deputation of the officer is for a period of five years.
ARPS Kohima observes annual day
DIMAPUR — Assam Rifles Public School (ARPS), Kohima, held its annual day on November 30 to celebrate a year of academic excellence, creativity and accomplishments. The event was attended by Vibha Lakhera, wife of Inspector General of Assam Rifles (North), as the chief guest. An update from the school stated that the event reflected the school’s commitment to fostering holistic development and a vibrant learning environment. NST to provide special bus service
DIMAPUR — Nagaland State Transport (NST) has decided to provide special bus services on need basis with effect from December 11 to the 22nd. The services would include Kohima to Mon (ticket booking from ISBT Kohima counter); and Kohima to Tuensang, Kiphiri and Longleng (ticket booking from Kohima station main counter). NST assistant general manager informed that advance booking of tickets will begin from December 4 and will the service will be available Monday, Wednesday and Friday with departure time at 6 am.
NFHRCC issues travel advisory
DIMAPUR — Nagaland Foothill Road Coordination Committee (NFHRCC) has informed that the Doyan Bridge at Governor’s Camp will be completely closed for vehicular movement till December 20 in view of the rectification work. However, it said at light vehicles could be considered on technical advice from the concerned department in view of the Christmas season, while heavy vehicles would be completely stopped for at least 45 days till the completion of rectification works. In this regards, it endorsed RALH and YAPO to enforce the travel advisory.
