Tokheho congratulates Rio
Dimapur, March 7 (EMN): Lone Lok Sabha Member of Parliament (MP) from Nagaland, Tokheho Yepthomi, has congratulated Neiphiu Rio on being sworn in for the fifth term as the chief minister of Nagaland. Yepthomi expressed confidence that the state would continue to witness peace and development for the foreseeable future under his leadership. He added that under Rio’s leadership there has been stability for the last five years in governance, which has allowed developmental activities to take place. “Under his steady and dynamic leadership in his fifth term as chief minister, I am certain Nagaland will march towards a state of excellence,” Yepthomi added.
CP Dimapur revokes prohibitory order
Dimapur, March 7 (EMN): With the law and order situation returning to normalcy consequent upon the conduct of general election to the 14th Nagaland Legislative Assembly 2023, the commissioner of police, Dimapur, has revoked the prohibitory order from Dimapur, Chümoukedima and Niuland districts with effect from March 10. It may be mentioned here that the commissioner of police, Dimapur, Kevithuto Sophie, had promulgated prohibitory order under section 144A of the CrPC on January 19 prohibiting any person from carrying arms (firearms, machete/ daos, club, spears, explosives, catapults or any other articles designed or adopted as weapon for offence or defence) in their possession to ensure peaceful conduct of general election to the 14th Nagaland legislative Assembly 2023.
WCMA congratulates women legislators
Dimapur, March 7 (EMN): On the occasion of International Women’s Day, Western Chakhesang Mothers’ Association (WCMA) has greeted to all Naga women especially the two Naga women namely Salhoutuonuo Kruse and Hekani Jakhalu Kense, who have created history with their victory in the recent general elections, and wish them the best. Stating that their victories would not have been possible without the support of the men folk, WCMA president, S Nezolu Rhakho, has thanked the men and the people of Nagaland for believing in Kruse and Jakhalu’s capabilities and trusting them with their mandate. “It is a clear indication that our Naga society is indeed truly embracing equity, Rhakho said. She further wished that the strength, courage, and grace continue to uplift and encourage others around.
PHED Kohima condemns assault
Dimapur, March 7 (EMN): Office of the executive engineer of PHED, Kohima urban division, has strongly condemned the ‘uncivilised act’ by the miscreants, who unlawfully entered the restricted compound of the treatment plant at Kohima Science College, Jotsoma, and assaulted PHED employees on March 5. Stating that the treatment plant compound is a restricted area for unauthorised persons, it has condemned the forceful entry at unauthorised premises and inflicting physical injuries to its employees who are sincerely serving the public. It informed that the treatment plant which supplies drinking water to Kohima town is maintained and operated by the PHED department.
