Dy. CM Patton greets Sangtams on Mungmung

DIMAPUR — Dy. CM Y Patton has greeted the Sangtams on the occasion of the Mungmung festival. In a message, Patton stated that the six-day celebrations pay tribute to the Creator through a colourful display of rich cultural traditions. On behalf of the state BJP legislators, the Dy. CM extended heartfelt festive greetings and expressed hope that the festival is celebrated in the spirit of Mungmung, which embodies ‘togetherness forever’.

KMC notifies on legal aid cell awareness programme

DIMAPUR — The administrator of Kohima Municipal Council (KMC), T Lanusenla Longkumer, has informed all colonies and wards under the council that the Nagaland State Commission for Women is organising an awareness programme on the functioning of the legal aid cell. This event will take place at the Red Cross Complex conference hall on September 5 at 11 am. All colonies and wards have been requested to send two representatives each to attend the programme.

Roadshow on hygiene held in Mangkolemba

DIMAPUR — A roadshow was organised by the Mangkolemba Town Council (MTC) as a part of the Safai Apnao Bihmari Bhagao campaign on August 31 in Mangkolemba town, Mokokchung district. According to an official bulletin, as part of the programme, street plays were performed by the Mangkolemba Baptist Church youth ministry at various locations in the town, aiming to raise awareness among the public about hygiene and cleanliness. The district administration, newly elected town councillors, goan buras and youth members of Mangkolemba Baptist Church took part in the street plays.

NSCN/GPRN-R (Akato) recovers bike

DIMAPUR — NSCN/GPRN-R (Akato) has informed that an Apache bike bearing registration No. NLO7-7414, chasis no. MD634BE87P2B18892 and engine no. AE8BP2X18992 was recovered by the Sumi Region. In an update, it said the rightful owner can claim the same from the office of the Sumi region with requisite and proper documents within seven days. Assam Rifles engages with students

DIMAPUR — Assam Rifles organised ‘A day with the company commander’ for students of St. Edmund’s Higher Secondary School, Dimapur, on Monday. According to a press release, the programme included various activities: a lecture, singing with the jazz band, a screening of the Assam Rifles film, tug of war, musical chairs, and balloon shooting. The event was attended by 44 students and two teachers.

Ashaa Village Council schedules meeting

DIMAPUR — Ashaa Village Council has informed all villagers that a general meeting is scheduled for September 6 at 11 am at Government Primary School, Ashaa village, to discuss issues related to village problems. All concerned council members and the public are requested to attend the meeting without fail.

Khonoma Rüffüno Nagaland celebrates foundation day

DIMAPUR — The Khonoma Rüffüno Nagaland observed its 80th foundation day on September 1 at RCEMPA Hall, Phezhu, Jotsoma. On this occasion, new teams of officials for both Khonoma Rüffüno Nagaland and Khonoma Rüffüno Kohima were inducted, according to an update. The event also marked the commemoration of 100 years since A Kevichüsa MBE became the first Naga graduate in 1924. The commendation certificate was received on behalf of the family by Kekhrievor Kevichüsa, a grandson of A Kevichüsa MBE. Buno Zetsuvi delivered the exhortation, while Rev. Dr. Atsi Dolie was the main speaker.

Lok Sabha MP attends Tsuru Restaurant pre-launch

DIMAPUR — Tsuru Restaurant held a pre-launch event at Zakiesato near DDSC Stadium, Dimapur, on Monday, with MP Lok Sabha S Supongmeren Jamir as the chief guest. According to a press release, Tsuru promises to offer Japanese cuisine using ingredients sourced directly from Japan and Norway. The founder, Imnajungla Jamir, has 12 years of experience in Japanese cuisine and a decade of working alongside renowned Japanese chefs abroad.
