Health dept. issues improvement notice to ice cream factory

DIMAPUR — In connection with the video related to the popsicle ice cream factory in Dimapur and basing on the inspection of the factory by food safety team, the Directorate of Health and Family Welfare, through the state programme officer (food safety), Dr. John Kemp has issued an improvement notice to the proprietor of popsicle ice cream factory under Section 32 of the FSS Act’ 2006. It added that samples were also collected by the food safety officer of Dimapur for quality testing at state food NABL accredited laboratory. It stated a 14-day time was granted to the concerned proprietor to comply and take corrective measures as per the FSSA rules and regulations, failing which legal course of action would be initiated against the food business operator.

KMC conducts awareness programme

Kohima Municipal Council (KMC) conducted an awareness programme on waste management and clean air for the sanitation drivers, workers of KMC and ward/ village and KMC sweepers in its office premises on Friday. An update from KMC stated that the participants were briefed on segregation of waste, illegal dumping, littering, safety measures and effects of air pollution. It was followed with a medical camp, which was conducted in collaboration with urban primary health centre (UPHC), Seikhazou, and Naga Hospital Authority Kohima (NHAK). Altogether, 101 persons availed the medical facilities. Besides, basic safety/ work gear were distributed to all the participants.

Phek constitutes committee to check illegal business

Phek district has constituted a committee to check and inspect illegal business activities in Phek town. The committee is headed by ADC of Phek as chairman, along with the additional SP of Phek, assistant drugs controller, assistant controller of LMCP, and president of PDCCI as members. A DIPR report stated that the committee would conduct checking on expired products, illegal and banned substances, weight and measures etc.

KVD commemorates ‘Janbhagidari’

Commemorating ‘Janbhagidari,’ Kendriya Vidyalaya Dimapur (KVD) under the Ministry of Education, government of India, is conducting various activities and competitions including awareness on G-20, NEP, and foundational literacy and numeracy (FLN) on daily basis beginning from June 1 to the 15th. The school has been conducting many important competitions/ activities such as painting, Rangolis, slogans writing, etc. since June 1. It has planned to organise a mega one-day workshop on June 13 with various eminent educationists, social workers, teachers, students from the CBSE and state board. The chief engineer of Project Sewak, MNAV Prasad, would be the chief guest of the day.

CPO felicitates WSH new team

The Chakhroma Public Organisation (CPO) has conveyed best wishes to the new team of Western Sumi Hoho (WSH) led by Shikaho Zhimomi.
