Nagaland: New Reserve taxi drivers win 1st 7 A-side futsal tournament

Kohima, Oct. 8 (EMN): Taxi drivers of New Reserve (taxi stand) emerged as the champion of the 1st 7 A-side futsal tournament of the All Nagaland Taxi Association (ANTA) while AG team were runner-up, held at L Viluo Futsal Ground, Meriema on Saturday.

R Victor Rutsa, assistant to the treasurer of ANTA Hq. Kohima, informed the event was organised to let the local taxi drivers have cordial relationship with one another.

‘Most of the time the drivers are behind the wheels to earn income for livelihood. Therefore, the one day event was organised as recreational activity as well as for them to foster brotherhood among the drivers’, he added.

A total of 14 out of 19 teams (parking stands) participated in the event.

The one day tourney was held at L Viluo Futsal Ground, Meriema.

The winner walked away with INR 25,000 with running trophy while the 1st runner up received INR 15,000.
