Nagaland: Law students asked to propagate clean election
Dimapur, May 13 (EMN): While outlining the various vices prevailing in the Naga society, the assistant professor of Kohima Law College, Kezhokhoto Savi, has called for moral and spiritual revival to prevent the society from further degeneration. He cautioned saying, “We will collapse internally before any enemies get here,” if the public fails to address them.
Speaking at the thanksgiving programme organised by the Evangelical Union (EU) of Kohima Law College on May 12, Savi called upon the law students to bring about transformation in the Naga society by citing examples on four major crises from American history.
“One of the greatest enemies may be during the state general legislative assembly election where in the past elections, we have seen that money had been placed at the top and God at the bottom,” Savi cautioned. In this regard, he urged law students to play a major role in the clean election movement.
“Clean election is the call of all the people to commit themselves to consciously elect their leaders with integrity without being manipulated through corruption or other unhealthy means. Clean election is the need of the hour to rebuild our beloved Nagaland,” Savi said.
Citing the Bible from the book of 2 Chronicles 7:14 “If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land,” Savi urged the Naga people to humble and listen His words to bring about transformation in the society.
The programme was led by Botoholi, while Rachel Tsanglao said the invocation and scripture was read by Kezhabu and Grace Namgi.
